HangarNight is an online marketplace that connects pilots seeking overnight hangar space with hangar owners who offer it. References to "HangarNight," "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refer to the HangarNight platform and its operators. You can reach us at hello@hangarnight.com.

We collect information in three ways:

Information you provide directly. When you create an account, list a hangar, or make a booking, we collect your name, email address, phone number, aircraft information, payment details, and any other information you choose to share.

Information collected automatically. When you use HangarNight, we automatically collect log data such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the platform. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to maintain your session and improve your experience.

Information from third parties. We use Stripe for payment processing and Supabase for authentication. These services may share information with us as necessary to complete transactions and verify your identity.

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account
• Process bookings and payments
• Connect pilots and hangar owners through our messaging system
• Send you booking confirmations, receipts, and service updates
• Calculate aircraft fit based on hangar and aircraft dimensions
• Detect and prevent fraud and abuse
• Improve our platform through analytics and user feedback
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

With other users. When a booking is confirmed, we share limited contact and aircraft information between pilots and hosts as necessary to complete the stay. Before a booking is confirmed, our messaging system automatically filters out personal contact details.

With service providers. We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the platform, including Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), and Resend (email delivery). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only as directed by us.

For legal reasons. We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of HangarNight, our users, or the public.

Our messaging system automatically scans and removes phone numbers, email addresses, payment app references, and other contact details from messages sent before a booking is confirmed. This protects both pilots and hosts from off-platform transactions and potential fraud. By using our messaging system, you acknowledge and consent to this filtering. Full message content may be reviewed by HangarNight staff for safety and compliance purposes.

All payment transactions are processed by Stripe, Inc. HangarNight does not store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank account details on our servers. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy. For hosts, payouts are processed through Stripe Connect and require identity verification in accordance with Stripe's Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements.

We use cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use HangarNight. You can configure your browser to refuse cookies, but doing so may affect your ability to use certain features of the platform. We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking you across third-party websites.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud prevention purposes. Booking records and transaction data may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with financial regulations.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Request a portable copy of your data

HangarNight is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account on our platform, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account and associated data.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of HangarNight after the effective date of any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
